In Johanna Bruckners Arbeit «Total Algorithms of Partiality» (2018) stehen die finanzwirtschaftliche Deregulierung Bauprojekten in der Hamburger HafenCity und die anschlissende Reorganisation der Produktionsbedingungen auf der Grundlage neuer technologischer und infrastruktureller Entwicklungen im Vordergrund. Privat finanzierter Wohnraum und bezahlbarer bzw. subventionierter Wohnraum sind eben jene Wohnformen, die paradoxerweise durch ihre Wechselwirkung die verstärkende Eigenschaft der Finanzierung begünstigen und beschleunigen. Konzepte wie das Gerüst, das sich sowohl auf die physische Arbeit auf der Baustelle als auch auf das algorithmische Gerüst als Methode und Objekt in der algorithmischen Architektur und Logistik bezieht, und das Bauprofil sind die Werkzeuge, mit denen neue kooperative Leistungen entstehen und zum Ausdruck kommen. Basierend auf den provokanten Ideen des sozialistischen Architekten Sergio Ferro geht es darum, die «digitale Produktion» des öffentlichen Raums durch algorithmische Infrastrukturen gegen das physische Gerüst als Ort der wirtschaftspolitischen Konfrontation zu stellen.
Der Film untersucht darüber hinaus die Problematik der Einführung einer Robotersteuer, die zunehmend rund um den Globus diskutiert wird. Die Forschungshypothese für diesen Film wurde ursprünglich mit den beteiligten Performern in temporären sozialen Settings vor Ort diskutiert, auf deren Basis sie Tanzpartituren entwickeln. Die Reaktionen der PerformerInnen wurden in körperlichen Gesten artikuliert, deren Übertragungen darauf abzielen, neue soziale Infrastrukturen für die Gegenwart vorzuschlagen.

In Johanna Bruckner’s work «Total Algorithms of Partiality» (2018) the finance-driven deregulation of buildings in Hamburg’s HafenCity, and the subsequent reorganisation of production conditions, based on new technological and infrastructural development, are the main focus. Privately financed housing and affordable and/or subsidised housing are the very forms of living that, paradoxically, favour and accelerate the amplifying characteristic of finance through their interaction. Concepts such as the scaffold, which refers both to physical labour on the construction site as well as to the algorithmic scaffold, or framework, as both method and object in algorithmic architecture and logistics, and the construction profile constitute the tools alongside which new cooperative peformances are emerging and being articulated. Based on the provocative ideas of the socialist architect Sergio Ferro, the point is to set the digital fabrication of public space by algorithmic infrastructures against the physical scaffold as a location for economic-political confrontation.
The film moreover examines the problematics of implementing a robot tax that is increasingly happening in former warehouse areas around the globe. The research hypothesis for this film, was originally discussed with the participating performers in temporary social settings on site, on the basis of which they develop dance scores. The performers’ responses were articulated in bodily gestures, whose transmissions aim to propose new social infrastructures for the present.
«Total Algorithms of Partiality» will be shown in the series «Art and Film» at Kino Rex. In this series, Kino Rex features films between art and cinema, documentaries portraying artists or dealing with art themes, as well as works in the field of video art.
